General information

Travellers

From 12 February 2022, the following rules will apply at borders:

  • For travellers who have been vaccinated in accordance with European regulations, no more tests will be required on departure. Proof of a complete vaccination schedule will once again be sufficient to arrive in France, regardless of the country of origin, as was the case before the spread of the Omicron variant.
  • For unvaccinated travellers, the obligation to present a negative test to travel to France remains, but the measures on arrival (test, isolation) are lifted when they come from countries on the “green” list, characterised by moderate circulation of the virus.
  • When unvaccinated travellers come from a country on the “orange” list, they will still have to present a compelling reason justifying the need to come to metropolitan France and may still be subject to a random test on arrival. Travellers who test positive will have to isolate themselves, in accordance with the recommendations of the Health Insurance.

 Vaccination pass
  •  From 14 March, the application of the “vaccination pass” will be suspended in all places where it was required (leisure and cultural venues, commercial catering activities, trade fairs and exhibitions, etc.).    After 14 March, the “health pass” will however remain in force in health establishments, retirement homes and establishments for people with disabilities.
  •  Since 28 February, the mask is no longer mandatory in enclosed areas subject to the “vaccination pass”. Indoor masks must still be worn in transport and enclosed areas not subject to the vaccination pass.

Reduction in health measures
  •  On 14 March, wearing a mask will no longer be mandatory. All places are concerned, except public transport and health establishments.  Since 28 February, masks are no longer mandatory in enclosed areas subject to the “vaccination pass”. Indoor masks must still be worn in transport and enclosed areas not subject to the vaccination pass. As a reminder, since 2 February, wearing a mask outdoors is no longer compulsory.
  • It is no longer mandatory to wear a mask in theatres, concert halls and cinemas since 28 February 2022.
  • Stand-up concerts have been resumed, in accordance with health protocol, since 16 February.
  • In cafés and bars, standing drinking has been permitted again since 16 February.
  • Discotheques, which have been closed since 10 December, have been open in accordance with the health protocol since 16 February.
  • Gauges have been lifted in establishments with a seated audience (stadiums, concert halls, theatres, etc.). To access these places, the wearing of a mask remains compulsory since 2 February.
  • Sporting events: the wearing of masks is no longer mandatory since 28 February.
